Poly(vinyl alcohol)/Pullulan Composite Hydrogels as a Potential Platform for Wound Dressing Applications

چکیده

Hydrogels are 3D networks with an excellent ability to retain a high amount of water or biological fluids, representing suitable candidates for wound dressing applications. They can provide protective barrier and moist environment, facilitating treatment. The present paper focuses on physical hydrogels obtained from poly(vinyl alcohol) (PVA) pullulan (PULL) mixtures in different weight ratios by using the freezing/thawing method. Hybrid similar polymer compositions were prepared presence 0.5% Laponite® RD. influence polysaccharide clay addition properties PVA was investigated. Scanning electron microscopy showed evidence inner porous structure. viscoelastic investigated shear conditions revealed hydrogel composition network strength. swelling behavior followed physiological saline solutions at 37 °C pH = 7.4. For all samples, quasi-Fickian diffusion mechanism found. delivery neomycin sulfate studied as tests (0.15 M NaCl solutions; °C; 7.4) kinetic models used determine release mechanism. Peppas–Sahlin approach described very well vitro drug polymeric absence clay. However, hybrid polymer/clay best fit Korsmeyer–Peppas model. According study, membranes containing 40–60% PULL (in clay) therapeutic agents sites conditions.

Development of Chitosan/Bacterial Cellulose Composite Films Containing Nanodiamonds as a Potential Flexible Platform for Wound Dressing

Chitosan/bacterial cellulose composite films containing diamond nanoparticles (NDs) with potential application as wound dressing are introduced. Microstructural studies show that NDs are uniformly dispersed in the matrix, although slight agglomeration at concentrations above 2 wt % is seen. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy reveals formation of hydrogen bonds between NDs and the polymer m...

New Composites Collagen – Polyphenols as Potential Dressing for Wound Care

The aim of this study was to obtain new composites collagen-polyphenols and to investigate them as potential materials for wound dressings. Extracts from three plants: Arnica montana L., Artemisia absinthium L., and Urtica dioica L. were mixed in two different ratios and evaluated for their polyphenolic content and antioxidant activity. The herbal formulations were mixed with collagen type I an...
